Wrestling That Develops Real Athletes.
The Wrestling program is led by Professor Evan Thompson. Wrestling is one of the highest-leverage sports for athletic development. It builds explosive power, body control, mental toughness, and the kind of work ethic that carries into every other discipline a student touches.
Classes cover stance, motion, takedowns, sprawls, escapes, and the conditioning required to wrestle at length. The program serves both youth wrestlers building a foundation and collegiate-level athletes pursuing serious development.
We support athletes who wrestle for their school as well as students who want wrestling as a primary discipline. Either path is welcome.
- Stance, motion, and level changes
- Takedowns: singles, doubles, and high-crotch
- Sprawls, scrambles, and defensive technique
- Top control and breakdowns
- Live wrestling and conditioning circuits

Real Skill, Real Progression
Belts and milestones are earned through demonstrated competency, not handed out on a calendar. Students see measurable advancement in the first months and own every step of it.
Calibrated to Where You Are
Instructors meet each student at their current level. Intensity, complexity, and resistance are tuned per student, so beginners and experienced students train productively in the same room.

Common questions about Wrestling in The Colony.
What age can my child start?
Youth wrestling is available for grade-school athletes through high school. Reach out to the academy to confirm the right group for your child.
Is this for school athletes only?
No. The program supports both school athletes and students who want wrestling as their primary discipline outside of school programs.
How does this fit with BJJ training?
Wrestling is the most direct complement to BJJ. Takedowns, top control, and scrambles transfer directly. Many of our adult BJJ students train wrestling for the takedown game alone.
