Every Parent Sees It

You Already Know What Is Missing. You Have Not Found Where to Send Them.

  1. Child giving up on homework
    01 What You See

They quit the moment something gets uncomfortable.

The homework. The soccer drill. The instrument. The pattern is the same: friction shows up, attention shuts down.

  2. Parent worried about their child
    02 What You Feel

You are running out of answers.

You have read the books. You have tried the screen-time rules. You feel like the window is closing and you cannot find the lever that actually moves them.

  3. Confident young martial artist
    03 What They Become

Earned confidence shows up on the mat first.

The kid who learns to push through one hard round learns to push through hard things everywhere. It does not transfer because we say it does. It transfers because it is the same skill.

What Parents Always Ask

Everything You Want to Know Before You Come In.

How young can my child start?

Children can start as young as 4 in our youngest age group. Classes for younger students focus on listening, coordination, and cooperative drilling. They are not learning to fight, they are learning to be part of a group and follow instruction.

How do you place my child in the right group?

On the first visit, Professor Thompson assesses age and maturity and places your child in the right class. Age groupings are tight enough that students train with peers, not with kids two years older or younger.

My child has never done martial arts. Will they be ok?

Yes. Most kids start with zero experience. Instructors expect that and structure the first weeks around the absolute basics. Nothing about the program assumes prior training.

Will my child have to spar?

No child is required to spar. For the youngest age groups, sparring does not exist. Live training is introduced progressively, with calibrated resistance, once the instructor sees the technique and self-control to do it safely.

What if my child has ADHD or trouble focusing?

Martial arts has a documented positive effect on children with focus-related challenges. The structure, the physical outlet, the predictable routine, and the immediate feedback loop address several of the difficulties these kids face in other settings.

How often should my child come?

Two classes a week is the standard recommendation for visible progress. One per week maintains the habit but slows advancement. Three per week is ideal for students who are serious.

What does my child need to bring?

For the trial: comfortable athletic clothes and a water bottle. Training is barefoot. If you continue, we provide a list of what to buy and where to get it at a fair price.

How do you handle bullying?

We teach real technique and the restraint to use it correctly. Most bullying ends without contact when the targeted child carries the calm confidence trained students develop. Our instructors talk through situations off the mat as part of class.

Can my child compete?

Yes, but it is never required. Local and regional tournaments are available for kids who pursue it. Plenty of our students never compete and progress just fine.

How does the free trial work?

It is a real introductory class. No payment to book, no contract, no pressure to continue. Click any free-class button on this page, or call (214) 494-6111.
